Try to have your back to a wall so noone can stand behind you, keep your cards face down and only lift them slightly to see what they are, watch for players sat beside you having a sneaky peak and if you can only look once and try to remeber what you have.

 

Also watch for players signalling to one another at the table, this is another common way of cheating and basically playing as a team against you!
